Pending the results of a physical, veteran winger Petr Sykora will be placed on a pro tryout with the Minnesota Wild. While there is no guarantee he will sign Sykora, GM Chuck Fletcher has been looking all summer to add another scoring winger, especially after two players Fletcher had his eye on; center Mike Comrie and winger Alex Tanguay have signed with Edmonton and Tampa Bay, respectively.
Sykora, at 32 years-of-age has played for 14 NHL seasons (New Jersey, Anaheim, New York Rangers, Edmonton and Pittsburgh) and was fourth on the Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins last year with 46 points.
Sykora is rumored to undergo a physical Wednesday morning and if he passes, he'll join the rest of the Wild roster for practice later that day.
